NORFOLK PTS
The Certificate in Local Council Administration (CiLCA) is awarded at Level 3 of the National Qualification Framework. This introductory session is designed to give clerks and their deputies, or anyone else working with local councils, an opportunity to understand the time commitment, the advantages to both you and your council of undertaking the course, and learn about the support available.
Julie King is the course tutor; she will explain the background to the qualification and the 30 learning outcomes which make up the portfolio. She will discuss any training requirements you may have, the assessment process and introduce a learning agreement which you can share with your council/s.
By the end of the session, you will have a greater understanding of the work involved and an idea of whether or not you are ready to take the course with us. The course is run over a six to seven-month period and supports you with your portfolio.
About Julie King: she has been a clerk since 2005 working for several councils during this time. She is an experienced tutor and partner of Norfolk PTS and is in the unusual position of having taken her CiLCA twice - first of all in 2008 and then again in 2019 to ensure she's completely up-to-date with this qualification. Julie explains topics knowledgeably and clearly, with years of wisdom from being a practising clerk herself.
