Locum Clerk Support

Councils occasionally require a locum clerk to cover for sickness, maternity absences or to bridge the gap between a clerk leaving and another starting. You might also need a locum clerk if you have additional work or projects to undertake.

We have a list of experienced clerks who are available to work on a temporary basis. Once we’ve made the introductions, you make appropriate arrangements between yourselves. There is no fee for using this service if you are a subscribing council – simply contact us when the need arises and we will try our best to locate a locum clerk for you.

When you contact us please let us know as much of the following as you are able but don’t worry if you haven’t firmed-up your requirements yet.  We’ll be happy to discuss these with you and provide advice and guidance.

  • Your name, council, position on the council and contact details
  • Length of locum period and start date
  • Number of hours per week
  • General outline of work required
  • Place of work

If you are an experienced clerk who is interested in undertaking locum work and would like to be added to our database, please contact us to discuss this further.
