Stow Bedon and Breckles Parish Council is seeking a motivated, organised and community-minded Parish Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer (RFO), preferably with previous experience or a knowledge of local government procedures.
Hours: Part-time, 5 hours per week, which are flexible and mainly home-based. The parish council holds monthly parish council meetings on the second Monday of each month except August and December and these are held in Caston Village Hall.
Salary: In line with NALC/SLCC pay scales (dependent on experience and qualifications).
Start Date: As soon as practicable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare agendas, attend and minute Council and Annual Parish meetings.
- Manage correspondence, records, policies and the Council’s website/noticeboards.
- Administer finances: budgeting, payments, VAT, bank reconciliation, and preparation of accounts and the Annual Governance and Accountability Return (AGAR).
- Advise councillors on procedures, legislation and best practice.
